About Us

Holy Breath Conglomerates NFP, Inc was established in June of 2022 by Aviance Cobb and Kevin Gray.  In March 2022, after hearing the story of Kevin Gray and many others who are wrongly convicted and affected by the 1994 crime bill, Ms. Cobb, led the (Why Hold our Youth) Why Initiative, which sheds light on mass incarceration and excessive sentencing in the State of Illinois while focusing on the social and racial ills that have historically engulfed our communities.

Before founding this organization, Aviance spent 15+ years serving as a French Teacher for the Chicago Public School System.  During her last few years at a high school on the south side, she coordinated and facilitated the Student Voice Committee through CPS’s Social and Civic Engagement Department.  This particular group was responsible for representing the student body on issues such as, student-teacher relationships, school nutrition, policies and procedures, meeting the needs of the homeless student population, and more!  These students were non-traditional leaders and excelled in research, community building, and public speaking.  The Freshman Students who were involved left lasting impressions on stakeholders during the Mikva Challenge and as they led workshops within the local SVC leadership sector. 

Mr. Gray’s  background begins as a justice involved youth in 6th grade, witnessing multiple homicides at the soles of his sneakers.  Excluded from elementary school and hijacked from high school, at the age of 23, he was arrested, convicted, and sentenced 77 years in prison with a projected discharge date of 2072.  However, he used valuable time in prison teaching himself to read and study the law and successfully vacated one of the unconstitutional gun enhancements which decreased his sentence by 31 years in 2019 and 46 years in 2022.  Our North Star is justice and is the reason Holy Breath Conglomerates NFP Inc was birthed.
